The Oberon Museum offers
visitors the opportunity to step back into the past with it's
large outdoor display of early farm machinery and a comprehensive
indoors collection of artefacts and pioneer memorabilia housed
inside the original railway station and adjoining two saloon
rail carriages, all dating back to the 1920's.
Walk through an authentic
early settler's home built in the early 1880's, fully furnished,
complete with a fully functional blacksmith workshop, tools
and forge. Open Saturdays between 2-5pm, or by appointment by
phoning (02) 6336 1016, our Museum will provide a quiet and
welcome break for Tourists and Coach Tours alike.
At the Cobweb Craft Shop view the 8 Bicentennial
Tapestries, designed by artist Kim Rabbidge and hand stitched
by over 70 local needle workers.
Visit Abercrombie Caves - the largest natural
arch in the Southern hemisphere. Self-guided and guided tours.
Bushwalking and fossicking. Visit Jenolan Caves. Cave tours,
bushwalking, adventure tours and specially theme tours. Come
to the Kowmung Music Festival.
Picnic, swim or fish for trout at Flat Rock
(between Tarana and O'Connell), O'Connell (near the bridge),
Rockley Weir, Burraga Dam Reserve and Lake Oberon (no swimming).
